Staphylococcus succinus sp. nov., isolated from Dominican amber.
Two bacterial isolates, designated AMG-D1T and AMG-D2, were recovered from 25-35-million-year-old Dominican amber. AMG-D1T and AMG-D2 biochemically most closely resemble Staphylococcus xylosus; they differ physiologically from other staphylococci. Fatty acid analysis and comparisons with extensive databases were unable to show relatedness to any specific taxon. Moreover, AMG-D1T and AMG-D2 cont...
متن کاملDraft Genome Sequence of Staphylococcus succinus subsp. succinus Type Strain DSM 14617, Isolated from Plant and Soil Inclusions within 25- to 35-Million-Year-Old Dominican Amber
Staphylococcus succinus subsp. succinus type strain DSM 14617 was isolated from plant and soil inclusions within 25- to 35-million-year-old Dominican amber. The complete genome sequence of strain DSM 14617T includes a genome of 2.88 Mb (32.94% G+C content) without any plasmids.
متن کاملStaphylococcus pulvereri sp. nov., isolated from human and animal specimens.
A new coagulase-negative species of the genus Staphylococcus, Staphylococcus pulvereri, was isolated from human and animal specimens. The complete 16S rRNA sequence of the type strain of S. pulvereri, NT215, was determined and compared with the sequences of 16S rRNAs from the other staphylococci. Strains of S. pulvereri were differentiated from other novobiocin-resistant Staphylococcus species ...
متن کاملCretevania bechlyi sp. nov., from Cretaceous Burmese amber (Hymenoptera: Evaniidae).
The fossil evaniid wasp Cretevania bechlyi sp. nov., is described based on a well preserved female specimen from Cretaceous Burmese amber. The new species is placed in the genus Cretevania Rasnitsyn, 1975 based on the elongation of the mid and hind trochantellus, the fore wing venation (e.g. first marginal cell triangular and broad, 2m-cu absent, second sub-marginal cell separated from first di...
متن کاملAnother fossil agaric from Dominican amber.
We report the discovery of a fossil agaricoid homobasidiomycete from Dominican amber (ca 15-20 Ma). Aureofungus yaniguaensis appears to be a member of the euagarics clade, but its precise taxonomic placement is obscure. This is the fourth known fossil agaric and the third from Dominican amber.
